1.3 Cellular Pathophysiology

This unit we learned about cell anatomy, the 5 hallmarks of disease, cell adaptation and injury, and we watched a movie about encephalitis lethargica called Awakening.  When we began with the anatomy unit we started by using the Virtual Human Dissector, VHD, with the software we were able to separate body systems and individually "dissect" them. After familiarizing ourselves with the body systems we broke down into cell anatomy, once we learned how cells function we learned about how they can stop functioning properly. This lead us to learn about the five hallmark causes of diseases in a cell. After completing the film and our Big Paper Notes, we tok a unit test covering all the material we learned.

My biggest pet peeve is having too much homework and not enough time to complete it all.  The way I adapt to my injurious situation is I go to my room and spend all my time just doing homework, leaving me to be atrophic because I don't have time to eat dinner. Thankfully, my cell injury is reversible, so once I complete all my tasks I can go eat my dinner.  My adaptation and reversible cell injury skills allows me to survive in the most stressful situations.
