What I remember from the skin cancer unit:
We started off the unit with a pre-UVB instruction list. After going through what is necessary to have on our presentation sheet we went outside and executed our experiment. After getting three trials of data we then were told what components were needed in a poster and abstract. From time to time we would add to our Big Paper Notes. We started with vocabulary and then to continue the unit, we watched the movie Living Proof. A movie about herceptin, a breast cancer tumor suppressor. We spent a few days viewing the movie and periodically talking as a class about what happened. Near the end of the unit we started developing out iSearch groups, talking about things like who was in each group and what our topic was going to be. After we had that all set Mrs. Speirs began to explain what an iSearch was and how to start it.
